Meet The Board

What is the Board?

The Alano Club is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors. The board is responsible for overseeing the mission, operations, and financial health of the club. Each member plays a crucial role in ensuring the club remains a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all who seek recovery.

What Do They Do?

Board members help with:

  • Setting and reviewing policies and procedures

  • Managing the club’s finances and budget

  • Making decisions about club maintenance, events, and improvements

  • Overseeing the care and upkeep of the building, grounds, and facilities

  • Supporting the recovery community through leadership and service

  • Hiring or overseeing staff or volunteers when needed

  • Ensuring the club remains focused on its purpose and values

  • Board meetings are held regularly and are open to members of the club unless otherwise stated.

How Are Board Members Appointed?

Board members are appointed by the current Board of Directors. When there’s an open position, the board may consider club members who have shown a strong commitment to the club, demonstrate leadership qualities, and are willing to serve in a responsible, service-oriented way.

If you're interested in serving on the board or want to learn more, feel free to reach out to a current board member for information.

Leadership is not about positions or titles, it’s about action and example.

The Milwaukee Alano Club is managed by the Alano Foundation, which serves as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization lead by its board of directors, staff, and volunteers.

We recognize that as leaders, we depend on our volunteers and members more than they depend on us. Cultivating the growth and development of others is a privilege, and all of our work is service-oriented. Our success is deeply rooted in the empowerment of others.
